Journalists killed, respectively in DRC, Somalia and Nigeria, Burkina Faso, including a social media activist in Ghana during the period of April-June 2021. This report highlights other violations, a total of 91 incidents of freedom of expression violations recorded across the 25 countries during the period under review.
Somalia recorded the highest number (12) of FOE violations, followed respectively by Nigeria (10) and DRC (9). Ghana and Angola recorded eight and seven violations respectively.
